In Winter My Greatest Fear Emerges
In winter my greatest fear emerges
from the stillness of my body.
Give a chair four legs and it will stay forever.
Give me one chance and always take it I will.
The moment water drops hit the ground
is the last moment they exist.
And those that fall into a puddle are lost.
No, they are not lost,
they become irrecoverable
because they can never be found
and they disappear forever.
Those mid-drop
know one thing less than those in the puddle.
You will never again be where you are now.
Never look up.
